| Lord Lane Physical Therapy Clinic has been established since March 1989, and is run by husband and wife team, Susan and David
Armitage.
In May 2005 the clinic moved to 63
Ashton Road East,Failsworth and is now known as
Failsworth Physical Therapy Clinic
Susan graduated from the Northern Institute of Massage in 1987 with Diploma's in Remedial Massage and Advanced Remedial Massage.
Susan then continued her training at the Northern Counties School of Osteopathy where in 1989, she graduated with Diploma in Osteopathy.
Susan is
now registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
as a State Registered Physiotherapist. (See
their website, www.hpc-uk.org)
David graduated from the Midlands School of Massage and Manipulative Therapy in 1992 with a Diploma in Remedial Massage.
The Clinic treats a wide variety of conditions, ranging from low back pain, knee and hip problems to thoracic and cervical conditions. Depending on the condition, a mixture of Interferential electro-therapy, remedial massage and/or manipulation may be used.
Susan and David believe that treatment of the soft tissues of the body, i.e. muscles, ligaments, nerves etc. are a very important part of the treatment of joint problems.
The Clinic also offers an advanced form of treatment for back pain. This is Power Assisted Micro-Manipulation (PAM), and is very suitable for patients who have conditions in which manipulation is contra-indicated or is not advisable. Some patients are nervous of manipulation, and this system offers a safe alternative as there is no twisting of the body involved.
A fuller explanation of the P.A.M. treatment will be found on
this page of our website.
